Washington, DC

The Ballou High School rooftop array is one of the largest projects in an expansive, 37-site portfolio with the Department of General Services in Washington D.C. With the portfolio being one of the largest, and most complex onsite municipal utility projects in the United States, Sol Systems’ Project Management team was tasked with delivering a sustainable product that would serve the greater community. After successfully receiving the Request for Proposal, the team provided end-to-end services that spanned from arranging finance and overseeing construction to completion later that year.  Ballou’s 518.3kW system will ultimately contribute toward saving taxpayers $25 million over the portfolio’s lifespan, as well as help the District get one step closer to its goal of 50% renewable energy usage by 2032.
