My name is Candace Chatman, the new marketing intern at Sol Systems. With responsibilities that include marketing research, blog and journal writing and editing, and internal communications, I have a long and full summer ahead of me. Along with seven others, I will be part of a summer intern class at Sol Systems, tasked with more than just mundane grunt work that often comprises other internships, but with actively helping build out the company while we build out our careers.

Sol Systems makes it a priority to invest in unique and diverse talent. I am proud to be a part of an internship program that provides young people with an opportunity to launch a career in renewable energy. I am honored to introduce and showcase this summer's talent. Please welcome my team members Christopher Dailey, Adil Javat, Steve Wood, Lauren Aycock, Juliana Isaac, Luke Sheridan, and Sarah Asher.

Christopher Dailey joins Sol Systems this summer as an Investor Managed Accounts (IMA) intern. Mr. Dailey assist the IMA team in financial models and pricing, solar M&A transactions, and negotiations of solar development agreements. Prior to joining the Sol Systems team, Mr. Dailey worked at Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), working on wind projects that are based in the Ukraine. Mr. Daily has a Bachelor of Arts in History from Georgetown University, and just graduated from Georgetown with his Master's in Business.

Adil Javat comes to Sol Systems as an intern on the Asset Management team. This summer, he will analyze financial models, prepare presentations, and work with our national investor clients. Before interning at Sol Systems, Mr. Javat worked at Blizzard Partners, an investment and advisory firm in the United Kingdom. He is a senior at Johns Hopkins University obtaining his degree in Economics and minoring in Psychology.

Since joining the Sol Systems team as a Customer Energy Services (CES) intern, Steve Wood has been working on qualifying potential development leads, working on early stage project design, and building out pricing models. Mr. Wood is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and minoring in Sustainability at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Outside of work, Mr. Wood has an affinity for music and plays the guitar and keyboard in his school band.

Juliana Isaac interns for the Project Development team. Ms. Isaac works on research for the development team and research and modelling for the engineering team. On the development side, she researches permitting and site access regulation for new projects. Ms. Isaac assists the engineering team with Helioscope energy modelling, which estimates and analyzes how many modules can go on a proposed roof. Ms. Isaac attends McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Prior to joining Sol Systems, she worked at Cultivate the City here in D.C., where she did research projects to maximize the production capacity of their new vertical farming system.

Lauren Aycock joins the Sol Systems team as a Project Delivery Intern. She works on project management for Sol Systems’ new Helios fund, updates budgets, and organizes documents for subcontractors. Prior to interning at Sol Systems, Ms. Aycock worked for The Crosby Group in Tulsa, Oklahoma doing quality engineering. She is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering at The University of Tulsa, where she is the director of community service events for Chi Omega at school. Ms. Aycock states, "I come from a school and a city where a lot of people go into the oil industry, which I wasn't interested in." Ms. Aycock is happy to be a part of Sol Systems where she can hone in on her passion for renewable energy.

Luke Sheridan is a Structured Finance Intern at Sol Systems working on The Helios Infrastructure Fund, exploring emerging solar markets, working in Salesforce, and fostering current relationships with developers. Mr. Sheridan is a senior pursing his Bachelor's of Arts in Arabic with two minors in physics and The Science, Technology and International Affairs (STIA) program at Georgetown University. He recently studied abroad in Jordan and works hard outside of school on his Arabic and plays rugby.

Sarah Asher joins Sol Systems as a CES intern. Ms. Asher works within Salesforce, inputting qualified leads. She also analyzes pricing for potential solar projects. She is most excited about working on a summer long project that identifies private schools within the D.C. area who have sustainability initiatives and are interested in solar. Ms. Asher attends The National Cathedral School as a rising sophomore. Ms. Asher loves to hike and is interested in entrepreneurship and business development.

As for myself, I previously worked as an Advertising and Sales intern at FierceMarkets, a division of Questex. I worked within Salesforce to create contracts, strengthened potential revenue opportunities through lead outreach, and created reports to track pipelines. Before that I worked at FierceMarkets, I was with The Cipher Brief, a digital, security-based conversation platform, where I concentrated on social media and marketing campaigns. I am currently a rising senior at The Catholic University of America, majoring in Management.

The Sol Systems team extends a warm welcome to our summer interns and wishes them well as they continue to develop careers in renewable energy. For more information on internship and career opportunities, please visit http://www.solsystems.com/our-company/careers.
