Sol Systems announced today that it will help finance a 100 kW solar PV system located on the Voorhees Pediatric Facility, a 119 bed youth care center located in Voorhees, New Jersey. Under the terms of the agreement, Sol Systems will purchase all of the solar renewable energy credits (SRECs) produced by the system over a three year period.
“The Voorhees Pediatric Facility has taken active measures to reduce its energy footprint.” said Yuri Horwitz, CEO and co-founder of Sol Systems. “We are proud to help Voorhees fully realize the true value its solar PV system and we are looking forward to working with other hospitals in the area.”
The Voorhees Pediatric Facility’s PV system will produce approximately 120-130 SRECs per year, the sale of which will provide the health care organization with thousands of dollars in income to significantly offset the initial cost of the solar PV system. This contract structure offers Voorhees a steady income stream without the risk associated with spot market pricing. Sol Systems is one of the only solar financing firms in the country that offers its customers a fixed price for SRECs over the length of the contract.
