Marcus Hoy serves as a Business Development Manager out of the Washington D.C. office with a focus on the New York, Maryland and D.C. marketplaces. He works to develop commercial and small utility-scale solar assets for Sol Customer Solutions.
Prior to Sol, Marcus worked at Tesla helping develop residential and small commercial solar projects for nearly 4 years. He is an entrepreneur at heart who has worked extensively on 2 start ups relating to solar and sustainability. The first as co-founder and Chief Ambassador of Shimo, a small company focused on creating and selling solar gadgets to help accelerate the adoption of solar and battery technologies into everyday use. More recently, he founded Sustainable You – A sustainability consulting company focused on helping individuals and small businesses in Washington DC to develop a holistic approach towards lowering their carbon footprint by navigating incentives and sustainable choices that help save time and money.
Mr. Hoy holds a B.A. in mathematics with a minor in philosophy from SUNY Geneseo. Sports of any kind are his number one hobby and he played 4 years of collegiate basketball where he served as co-captain his senior year at SUNY Geneseo.
